Today we are going to discuss how to completely install Chainfire 3D on any android device, as this is a great app that will maximize the efficiency of your android phone, specifically for low end unit. However for those who are new to this application, this app needs your device to be rooted. If you need assistance about rooting your device, kindly post a comment below and will help you get an information as soon as possible.

So what is Chainfire 3D?

Chainfire 3D Pro is a great app that will enable any android device to take advantage of OpenGL library as it takes control of your GPU OpenGL (A hardware that plays graphics on your device). Chainfire3D is an intermediary OpenGL driver. What does that mean? It means that Chainfire3D sits between your apps and the graphics drivers, and can intercept and/or change commands between the two. It has some built-in functions, and can be further extended with plugins to provide extra functionality.

  • If you have an entry level phone or phones that doesn't have a good GPU inbuilt (e.g. Galaxy Y, Galaxy Mini) this will enable your device to run 2D / 3D games for the expense of reducing the graphic display of specific app or games.
  • Chainfire 3D has features include reducing texture size and quality to reduce memory use and potentially increase game performance, as well as increasing memory use potentially increase performance
How to Install:
  1. Download Chainfire 3D Package HERE
  2. Install the following applications in the following order:
    1. 01 - Chainfire 3D Pro v2.8
    2. 02 - Chainfire 3D Pro v2.0
    3. 03 - Chainfire 3D Pro v3.3
  3. Unpack "Plug-ins" in your SD Card.
  4. Open Chainfire 3D then allow Superuser.
  5. Select the CF3D driver, press Install and your phone will reboot itself.
  6. Start the Chainfire 3D again and this time select "Install plugins / shaders"
  7. Kindly wait as it will search for any available plug-ins
  8. Install all plug-ins found and afterwards go back to the main menu and select "Fix Market settings"
Thats it! We are done installing Chainfire 3D Pro! Have fun :)

Tips: To configure your Chainfire 3D settings, just go to "Default OpenGL settings" and match your settings depending on the game you're going to play. For instance if you will play Nova on a Galaxy Y phone, make sure "Reduce texture quality" is tick and "Use Plugin" "QUALCOMM" is selected.

  2. Hi Sumit, thanks for raising this concern, indeed that's a disclaimer from Chainfire 3D when installing its driver, but you don't have to worry as long as your phone is in full battery and your on rooted gingerbread 2.3 up -- there shouldn't be any problem, whilst w/ Creed's ROM so far there was no report that was made of Chainfire messing up from XDA. Hope this info helps.

    1. chainfire shoudnt be a reason to booting problem, did you install other programs besides this? probably like apps2sd or something? and Creed 3.5 is a custom firmware - you can learn more from forum.xda-developers.com
